Do you completely geek out about history? Are you someone who remembers all the names and dates for every major skirmish ever fought? Do you absolutely dominate on trivia night? Mini Mall sees you—and we’re here to give you five reasons to add Greenville, Tennessee, to your must-see American history travel list (if it’s not there already). Let’s go!

  1. Downtown Greeneville Historic District
Greeneville is one of Tennessee’s oldest towns, and the Greeneville Historic District is at the heart of all that history. Established in 1783, the town’s past is well-preserved in the downtown core. Enjoy a self-guided walking tour and take in the distinctive architecture, unique character, and stunning natural backdrop of this important American locale.

  1. General Morgan Inn & Conference Center
While you’re in the area soaking up all the history, why not stay at the historical General Morgan Inn? First known as the DeWoody Tavern, the luxurious and elegant General Morgan Inn is one of the town’s most iconic buildings—and the site of some key events in the town’s making. It’s also the starting point of the 90-minute “A Walk with the President” tour, taking you on a guided journey towards a deeper understanding of the area’s history and heritage.

  1. Andrew Johnson National Historic Site
The Andrew Johnson National Historic Site gives you a glimpse into the early life and term of the 17th president of the United States. The site contains four noteworthy stops, including the Visitor’s Centre, Early Home, Homestead, and National Cemetery.

  1. Dickson-Williams Mansion
Both the Civil War Trail and the Walk with the President Tour make a point of passing by the Dickson-Williams Mansion, which was built by Greeneville’s first postmaster. After the Williams family, the historic home served as an inn that welcomed prestigious guests such as Frances Hodgsen Burnett, David Crockett, and James Polk, among many other important figures.

  1. Greeneville Greene County History Museum
Housing a nationally recognized collection of state and local history, the Greeneville Greene County History Museum is worth checking out. With 13 galleries and several walk-through exhibits, you’ll be transported back in time as you learn more about the area’s history.

If you’re up for a short drive, the Davy Crockett Birthplace State Park is right next door in the nearby town of Limestone, TN. The park is a lush expanse of natural beauty and features a replica of Davy Crockett’s childhood home. There is also a Visitor’s Center and Museum you can take in.

Whether you’re in the area for a short visit or are planning a permanent move to Greeneville, TN, Mini Mall Storage has you covered. Searching for an off-island suburb with an easy commute and an abundance of nature all around you? Look no further than Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec.

The charming city of Sainte-Thérèse is a bustling municipality just northwest of Montréal, nestled in the heart of the Thérèse-De Blainville Region, and home to about 26,000 people. Affordability and availability are always an issue in densely populated areas like Montréal and Laval, so if you’re dealing with cramped quarters or need a place to store your belongings as you prepare for a big move, head off-island and find Mini Mall Entrepôts in Sainte-Thérèse, QC.

Easy access to big-city life with the comfort of small-town living

According to the Quebec Professional Association of Real Estate Brokers (QPAREB), the average price of a single-family home on the island of Montreal was $680,000 as of December 2023, while single-family homes average just $485,000 on the North Shore.

Save on housing and enjoy the best of both worlds in this charming suburb just one hour from Mont Tremblant or downtown Montreal.

Station Sainte-Thérèse connects to Montreal transit via the Saint-Jerome line that brings you to Lucien L’Allier—putting the entire city at your feet.

You’ll also enjoy access to an expansive network of ski trails in the winter for cross-country enthusiasts and, in the summer, bike paths that take you through the serene natural setting without having to fight with traffic.

Surround yourself with French Canadian history and culture

Sainte-Thérèse has a rich history spanning over 175 years, with several important historical buildings, including the Maison Jospeh-Filion, built in 1860. The Filion family is one of the original families of the area, and Joseph may have even lent his blacksmithing skills to the creation of the crosses on the bell towers of the church of Ste-Thérèse d’Avila. The Societe d’habitation du Quebec now owns the building, which has been made into a public museum where you can learn more about the area and its development. Nearly 93% of Sainte-Therese residents speak only French, so the language and culture make up a big part of the unique character of this charming town.

An active community lifestyle

Plant your roots in one of the community gardens where you can get to know your neighbours, rent a space to create a garden of your own and connect with the beauty of nature all around you.

Or check out the community centre for a buffet of arts, cultural, and sports classes and activities. The kids will love the special events the library designed to get the young ones excited about learning.

Sainte-Thérèse is home to many schools, including five elementary schools, three high schools and College Lionel-Groulx—one of Quebec’s largest and most important CEGEPs.

Self-Storage in Sainte-Thérèse, QC

Whether you’re coming to the area to attend college or trying to find a quiet place to raise your children, Mini Mall Storage offers safe and secure solutions for a stress-free moving experience.

At Mini Mall Storage in Sainte-Therese, we believe self-storage should be convenient and accessible. Has the trend in trailer renovations on TikTok got you itching to hop in the RV and hit the road? If the answer is two thumbs up, you’re in the right place.

Vancouver Island, the golden child of the Pacific Northwest, is the ultimate playground for explorers. Whether you’re a local or a wide-eyed visitor, the road trip vibe is your backstage pass to all the Island magic. Located off the southwest coast of Canada, this Pacific paradise is where Mother Nature shows off her A-game, and we are ready to take score.

Join us for a journey through the top 7 places to check off your island bucket list, with Mini Mall Storage as your trusted travel guide and local self storage expert. Buckle up, grab your gear, and let’s hit the road!

Beacon Hill Park, Victoria

Beacon Hill Park, sprawling across 740,000 square meters, is Victoria’s green treasure. It’s a perfect blend of manicured beauty and wild nature. This park is not just a playground; it’s a sanctuary for rare species and ecosystems protected by local, provincial, and federal laws.

Tour through well-groomed paths or catch surreal views if you’re into kite flying, paragliding, or sailboarding. And fun fact: Beacon Hill Park marks the epic starting point of the Trans-Canada Highway—our road trip’s official Mile “0”!

Mystic Beach, Sooke

Ready to get your adrenaline pumping? Hike the Juan de Fuca Trail through the dense rainforest to reach Mystic Beach, nestled along the Strait of Juan de Fuca—no fancy markers here, just a well-worn path.

Beware (or prepare) if you have a fear of heights. The suspension bridge over Pete Wolfe Creek is a favorite among locals and visitors but requires nerves. If you make it all the way, kick back and soak in those rugged coastal vibes.

Cowichan Valley Wine Country

Fancy a glass of vino? Head to Cowichan Valley and explore the island’s budding wine scene in one of the largest wine regions in British Columbia. Whether you like red, white, sparkling or rosé all day, saying cheers with locally produced wines in the countryside is always a yes in our books.

Cathedral Grove, MacMillan Provincial Park

Take a moment to appreciate the giants of the forest at Cathedral Grove. Towering ancient Douglas Firs and Red Cedars will make you feel like you’ve entered a prehistoric movie scene.

This park is a protective refuge, conserving an internationally significant representation of old-growth Douglas fir forest. Here, you’ll find trails winding beneath the colossal canopy of ancient trees, some of which have weathered more than 800 years!

Pacific Rim National Park Reserve

For some beachcombing, surfing, and classic coastal views, make your way to Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. If you fancy a (massive) challenge, attempt the 75-kilometer West Coast Trail hike for a taste of the wild side. If the suspension bridge in Pete Wolfe Creek was too much to stomach, there’s plenty of biking, surfing, and kayaking in Pacific Rim to fit the bill better.

Whale Watching in Tofino

Keep your eyes peeled for marine life in Tofino. Take a whale-watching tour and catch a glimpse of orcas, gray whales, sea lions, seals, and bald eagles. Plus, Tofino is not just for whale watching; it’s also a renowned surf spot, offering consistent waves and a relaxed culture for surfers of all levels.

Hot Springs Cove, Maquinna Provincial Park

Soak away the stress at the natural hot springs of Maquinna Provincial Park. Accessible only by boat or seaplane, it’s a peaceful retreat where relaxation takes center stage. We promise the one-hour water taxi is worth the time and a lot of fun to experience.

Remember to pack a lunch and have plenty of space on your phone for pictures.

The Next Road Trip

After relishing the sights of Beacon Hill Park, surfing the waves in Tofino, and chilling in hot springs, Vancouver Island still has more to offer.

Whether you’re planning a move to Vancouver Island or storing your RV until the next leg of adventure, Mini Mall Storage is here to assist you every step of the way. Our indoor and outdoor parking, climate controlled storage units, advanced security features, and friendly staff make us your go-to solution for self storage.

Reserve your storage unit online in a few clicks or give us a call.

We’re excited to be a part of your Vancouver Island journey!

Unless you’re from Tennessee (or a fan of the song Wagon Wheel) you’ve probably never heard of Johnson City, but that’s part of what makes it so wonderful. A city of 70,000 nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Appalachia in northeast Tennessee, it’s a perfect place to live, to work, to study, and to grow. That’s not just something we’re saying either – Mini Mall Storage has 9+ locations nearby and our teammate writing this has been a resident for nearly a decade now! So please, enjoy our love letter to one of the best little cities in Tennessee.

Timber restaurant in Johnson City

Local Flavor

One of the most underrated features of Johnson City is the ability to find delicious food from locally owned restaurants. For high-class Southern inspired dishes try Timber. Their menu is seasonal and uses fresh, local ingredients in every dish. For dessert, try the award-winning sweets at Cakebuds Bakery or Mona Lisa’s Gelato. Pizza lovers will enjoy The Main Street Pizza Company in downtown Johnson City. For Mexican eats, Diablo and Holy Taco are downtown as well.

Little Animals Brewery in Johnson City, TN

Home Brews

If you’re looking for something to wash down all that delicious food you just ate, you’re in luck – Johnson City is also home to a list of locally owned breweries and coffeeshops. Our favorite brews come from Little Animals – try their pilsner if you get the chance. All of their labels are made by Southern artists and they occasionally host the rotating night art market. The Philosopher’s House is a relatively new business that also serves as a community space. It’s a nonprofit that sells exquisite teas from around the world while also offering community-led classes on everything from fencing to speaking German.

Downtown Does It Better

One of the best places to hang out in Johnson City is downtown. Most of the aforementioned restaurants, breweries, and cafes are there, but so are a host of other things to do. Plant lovers can visit The Terrarium Plant Store and sign up for terrarium building classes that include the cost of plants and decorations, as well as seasonal classes like wreathe-making. Across from Main Street Pizza is the Generalist, an aptly named general store that sells everything from local art and clothing to retro candies and snacks.

Johnson City Public Library is also a downtown staple, offering two floors of genealogical records, books, movies, videogames, and meeting rooms. Right outside is King Commons, a beautiful park area with a playground for kids, gorgeous murals, and a walking trail that passes over the same stream that leads to nearby Founder’s Park where holiday celebrations are usually held.

Hands On! Discovery Center

Make Memories as a Family

The next generation will also enjoy their time in Johnson City. Aside from the numerous parks and playgrounds the area offers, there’s also the Gray Fossil Site and Hands On Museum, which offers musical Tesla coil shows (Guinness has certified it as the most powerful musical bi-polar coil), interactive paleontology exhibits that include a climbing tower, an interactive topobox, air rockets, circuit benches, and so much more. Several of the local parks offer splash pads in the summer, Johnson City Family Skate Center is open year-round, and so is Play It Again Retro Arcade.  Whether you’re looking for something physical, educational, or just plain fun, there are a variety of options to enjoy time together as a family.

self storage in the Appalachian Mountains

Back to Nature

The great outdoors is Johnson City’s biggest draw to visitors and locals alike. Fish at Watauga River or Boone Lake, hike any of the trails at Buffalo Mountain, golf at nearby Pine Oaks Golf Club, or head to Winged Deer Park with a pair of binoculars to watch the eagles. For those of us not adept at birdwatching, try the East Tennessee State University Eagle Cams on Facebook; they offer livestreams of the eagle nests.

Nearby Roan Mountain puts on an annual Rhododendron Festival in June, where visitors can enjoy the blooms and shop handicrafts from local artisans. Tweetsie Trail (a converted railroad) and nearby Tannery Knobs are excellent for those who enjoy biking. Tennessee also boasts the highest number of caves in the US – approximately 10,000 – and there are plenty of opportunities to visit them: Appalachian Caves, Worley’s Cave, and Bristol Caverns are all nearby. With a wide range of natural features and things to do, it’s not hard to see how Johnson City can be an adventurer’s paradise.

Feed Your Soul

If you thought a small city in Northeast Tennessee would be lacking in culture, you’d be wrong. The Johnson City Public Art Commission is committed to beautifying the city with murals, sculptures, and other art from local artists. The Tipton Gallery, the Warrior’s Canvas & Veterans Art Center, and the Fischman Gallery all exhibit works from artists near and far. Wallace Theater offers performances that range from standup comedy to Shakespeare’s plays. ETSU Martin Center for the Arts and Johnson City Art Center also offer classes and performances.

Self Storage in Johnson City

While that’s not everything we love about Johnson City, it’s a good start. We’re thrilled to be part of the community, and we offer a variety of services to residents and visitors alike. Our drive up self storage units allow for easy access to your goods, and our climate control units provide stability for items that are more sensitive to temperature and humidity changes. We even offer parking spaces for your boat, RV, or car! Security is as important to us as it is to you, so all of our storage facilities in the area are fenced and gated using OpenTech Alliance systems. 24-hour digital video surveillance is also featured at our Johnson City facilities, including high-tech Rhombus cameras.

If you’re looking to rent, reserve, or get more information, feel free to check our website, give us a call, or stop by and say hello to our friendly local staff in person at the South Roan Street storage facility in Johnson City! No matter what storage solution you need, Mini Mall Storage can help give you a seamless and stress-free experience.

A city full of vibrant colors, tastes, and people, New Orleans has it all! While it might be what we’re known for, Mardi Gras is only a small part of what makes NOLA so special. Mini Mall Storage is proud to be part of the New Orleans community, so for those looking to visit or relocate, let us be the ones to show you around. Don’t be surprised if you love it enough to move! If you do, we can help with that too. We have vehicle parking and climate controlled self storage units waiting for you to make New Orleans your new home. But first, who’s hungry?

beignets covered in powdered sugar

Flavors of the City

You can’t think of New Orleans without thinking of food. The port city’s unique mix of cultures also creates unique cuisine: po’boys, beignets, oysters Rockefeller, and bananas foster all originated here, after all. Gumbo, jambalaya, crawfish etouffee, king cake, and muffaletta are also staple foods in the crescent. We’ll be honest with you – you can get good food at pretty much any restaurant here. That said, we still have a list of our favorites for those who can get overwhelmed by the near-infinite number of choices.

Absolutely everyone will tell you to go to Café Du Monde, and the open-air coffee shop is world famous for good reason. Their beignets are borderline magical and their café au lait is the perfect pairing as you take a break from browsing the market in the French Quarter to refuel and people watch. Lines are long and the café is cash-only, so come early and come prepared. If you’re looking for a more substantial meal, El Gato Negro’s authentic Mexican is also walking distance from the market. Family owned and operated, their three locations are all in NOLA and serve dishes inspired by family recipes from the Mexican state of Michoacan. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but we recommend the fajitas and their Blood of the Gods margarita.

If you’re in the Garden District looking for upscale dining with local specialties, try the Commander’s Palace. You’ll know you’re in the right place when you see the fabulous blue Victorian building. Make sure to come well-dressed (collared shirts and close-toed shoes) and try the gumbo du jour when you visit. For those looking for a more casual vibe, try Lilly’s Café, a quiet Vietnamese restaurant that serves classics like Pho and Banh Mi. For something even more casual head to Parasol’s, a “divey hang” to grab a delicious po’boy and watch the game.

Whether you’re in the mood for Creole, Cajun, Soul, Vietnamese, Mexican, Italian, or any other type of cuisine, New Orleans has you covered. Our fresh seafood is spectacular, our regional dishes are unlike anything else, and one taste will have you ready to come back over and over again. Hungry for more than just food? Our next section takes you to places that will feed your heart and soul.

a man playing jazz on a saxophone

Places to Be, Things to Do

NOLA is a cultural hub, so whether you’re into art, music, architecture, animals, museums, nature, or anything else you can dream of, we have it in spades. There are plenty of family-friendly options, educational experiences, and just plain fun things to do here. Join us as we take you through some of our favorite haunts.

If you’re a fan of jazz music, the New Orleans Jazz Museum is a must-visit for music lovers, as it is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the history of jazz in New Orleans. Located in the historic Old U.S. Mint building, it features exhibits, performances, and educational programs highlighting the city’s jazz heritage.  As the birthplace of the genre our live options aren’t lacking either – try Preservation Hall, The Spotted Cat, or Fritzel’s European Jazz Club. Enjoy drinks and dancing no matter where you go as you enjoy the soundtrack of the city.

If eating the city’s cuisine isn’t enough for you, try the Southern Food and Beverage Museum.  The museum showcases the unique foods and drinks of the American South and features exhibits for each state, demonstrations, and events that explore the region’s culinary history. Visitors can learn about Cajun and Creole cuisine’s history and sample traditional dishes. They also have the Meat Lab, a state-of-the-art facility that offers classes and demonstrations for everything meat-related.

Those with little ones will enjoy the Louisiana Children’s Museum, a fun and educational destination for families. The museum features interactive exhibits and activities that encourage learning and play for kids of all ages. Exhibits include a grocery store, a climbing wall, a puppet theater, 100-foot water table, and more. The museum also offers special events and programs throughout the year, including art classes, science workshops, and holiday celebrations.

For animal lovers or those looking for even more family-friendly things to do, visit the Audobon Zoo and Aquarium. Consistently ranked as one of the best zoos in the country, their Louisiana Swamp exhibit has been one of their most popular attractions throughout the organization’s history. It explores the ties between the region’s people, animals, plants, food, industry, and culture. The swamp’s white alligators are considered good luck, and for those of us who are less academic the gators’ public feeding times are can’t be missed entertainment. Also worth seeing are the open flight aviary, Sumatran orangutans, amur leopards, and green sea turtles.

Langles Bridge in City Park New Orleans, Louisiana

Neighborhoods to Explore

Explore the vibrant and distinctive neighborhoods of New Orleans! From the lively Mid-City to the serene Lakeview Lakefront and the bustling Central City, we have something for everyone. Whether you’re interested in seeing the city’s beautiful architecture, exploring, or scouting out locations for your new home we’ve got plenty of suggestions to get you started.

Mid-City is a lively and easy-going neighborhood just north of the French Quarter. It’s most notable for being the home of City Park, a green space larger than Central Park in NYC. With its stunning oak trees, lagoons, and gardens, the park offers a range of recreational activities, including golf, tennis, and boating. Additionally, Mid-City is home to many excellent restaurants, bars, and shops, making it a popular destination for locals and tourists.

Known for its scenic views and stunning sunsets over the lake, Lakeview Lakefront is a vibrant neighborhood along Lake Pontchartrain’s shores. If you are looking for a bite to eat, Lakeshore has many great restaurants, bars, and several seafood markets where visitors can sample the day’s fresh catch. The Lakefront also has many parks and green spaces, including the Lakeshore Playground.

Just west of the Central Business District, Central City is a historically significant neighborhood recognized for its lively arts scene, cultural heritage, and iconic buildings and landmarks. One of the neighborhood’s most renowned establishments is Tipitina’s, a famous jazz club that has welcomed numerous music legends. The district is home to various community organizations, and initiatives are working towards revitalizing the area and preserving its cultural heritage.

If you’re thinking of moving to Lake Charles, our team of self storage experts would love to welcome you to the community! Let us ease your transition with a simple online experience and secure, convenient location.

Located near the Gulf of Mexico, Lake Charles is a city in southwest Louisiana with plenty of charm. Whether you’re a nature enthusiast with plenty of camping or fishing gear packed into your garage between trips to nearby Calcasieu Lake and Lacassine National Wildlife Refuge, or your local business in Oak Park Shopping Center or Prien Lake Mall has excess inventory with limited space to keep it all, we have a wide variety of storage units to best fit your needs. Besides the many parks and museums around time, take a look at our other favorite past times in this beautiful, vibrant city.

1. Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras

If you can’t make it to New Orleans, Lake Charles is your next best bet for celebrating Mardi Gras. Translated from French, Fat Tuesday has transformed from the tradition of finishing all the fatty foods in your home to the carnival it’s known for today. Ah, fellow guardians of the written word, welcome to a sanctuary crafted with the utmost love for your cherished books—Mini Mall Storage! For those of us who find solace in the musty scent of well-worn pages and the tangible embrace of a paperback, we understand the emotional ties that bind us to our collections.

We get it—the feel of a book in your hands is irreplaceable, and the thought of parting with even a single volume is like bidding farewell to an old friend. Fear not, for in this guide, we’re here to share not just self storage tips, but a heartfelt commitment to keeping your literary companions safe and sound.

If you’re ready to preserve the magic of paperbacks, hardcovers, and everything in between, Mini Mall Storage is here to guide you!

Our Top Ten Tips for Book Storage

Clean and Dusty Never Mix

Before stashing your cherished tomes, give them a good dusting to eliminate any accumulated particles. A clean start ensures your books remain free from dirt and dust during their cozy storage stay.

Mind the Temperature

Opt for climate-controlled storage units like the ones at Mini Mall Storage to protect your books from extreme temperatures. Books love a comfortable home, and a stable climate ensures they don’t experience the literary equivalent of hot flashes or chills. A bonus, climate control can protect more than just books

Stand Tall, Spines Together

Books feel safest when standing tall and spines together, offering support to each other. This method prevents warping and maintains the structural integrity of your paperbacks and hardcovers. Do your best to pair books of the same or similar size together.

Avoid Direct Sunlight

Books are like vampires when it comes to sunlight—keep them in the dark! Avoid exposure to direct sunlight that can fade covers and wither pages. Choose a storage spot away from those pesky UV rays to keep your books looking as vibrant as the day you first fell in love with them.

Embrace the Airflow

Allow your books to breathe by providing some space between them. Adequate airflow prevents mustiness and helps maintain ideal storage conditions.

Wrap it Right

Consider wrapping your books in acid-free paper, old t-shirts or cloth to provide an extra layer of protection. Avoid paper or materials that may transfer ink, like newspapers or certain magazines.

Mind the Moths

Say ‘no’ to pests! Place some moth balls or cedar blocks in your storage space to keep those book-loving moths at bay. Nothing ruins a book faster than an unexpected feast for these winged intruders.

Label with Love

Keep track of your literary kingdom with proper labeling. Knowing where your favorites reside will make retrieval a breeze, ensuring you can dive back into your beloved stories without playing a game of hide-and-seek.

Elevate the Goods

If you’re storing other items alongside your books, make sure they’re elevated. Soft cover and older books can easily begin to warp or crush under most belongings. Our motto? Keep your books high and dry!

Visit and Rotate

Old friend, I’ve missed you! Give your books a little love by visiting them every once in a while. If you have the time, rotate or reorganize to prevent uneven wear and tear. Plus, this is a great time to borrow from your own library or add books you’ve finished to a safe storage spot.

We’ve Got You Covered

With these 10 expert tips, storing your books long-term at Mini Mall Storage becomes a delightful journey rather than a daunting task. Remember, your books deserve VIP treatment, and our range of storage units, including climate-controlled units, are here to provide just that.

Are you moving to Hot Springs? Let our self storage experts help ease the transition with our conveniently located storage facilities. We make it simple to store your belongings and get situated quickly so you can spend your time exploring instead.

Whether you’re staying temporarily or a long time, Hot Springs, Arkansas, offers beauty, history, and a relaxing getaway. Discover and learn our five reasons we think you will fall in love with this quaint town.

The Hot Springs, naturally.

Has someone cheekily let you walk through a door first, stating ‘age before beauty?’ In that scenario, Hot Springs National Park would be at a standstill, as it’s the oldest in the country and might be the most beautiful.

Home to 47 natural hot springs and rightfully known as “America’s Spa,” it’s no wonder this beautiful destination had a record-breaking 2.1 million recreational visits in 2021. While the hot springs are too hot for mere mortals to take a dip, there are plenty of bathhouses on Bathhouse Row offering an authentic experience of the water. The Buckstaff Bathhouse, open since 1912, provides a traditional soak you won’t want to miss. For a more modern experience, be sure to check out the nearby Quapaw Bathouse as well.

No line-ups, no problem.

Who knew not making a top 10 list could be a good thing? With just over 38,000 people, Hot Springs is Arkansas’s 11th most populated city (out of 616), which invites a slower pace and good riddance to blood-boiling traffic.

Instead, you can enjoy a walkable city that boasts entertainment, diverse and delicious dining, and quirky shops to peek into. People watchers, this one is for you—check out the Kenneth Adair Memorial Park for incredible historical scenery and open space to set down a picnic blanket and let your mind wander.

The great outdoors.

Hot Springs is still the place for you if you love water but prefer it more on the tepid-to-cool side. Find yourself drawn to a swim in the crystal-clear waters of Lake Ouachita, Arkansas’s largest lake, with the beautiful Ouachita National Forest surrounding you. Whether you fancy fishing, boating, kayaking, dog paddling, or roughing it in the bush, the options are endless in Hot Springs’ expansive parks and lakes.

The Grand Promenade is part of Hot Springs National Park and runs parallel to Bathhouse Row, with historical markers throughout the half-mile detailing the area’s development.

A view from the top.

Hot Springs town self storage

Find yourself way up on the Hot Springs Mountain Tower, a 65.8 meter (216 foot) observation deck with panoramic views of over 140 square miles of the Ouachita Mountains, Hot Springs Mountain, and Diamond Lakes that will take your breath away. If you’re up for a hike, take the 1.5-mile scenic trail to the entrance.

Brush up on your gangster trivia.

It’s no Chicago, but Hot Springs was once a haven for the likes of Al Capone, Frank Costello, and other infamous mobsters. What may draw you to Hot Springs now is the same as what drew organized crime back in the 30s—a quiet and serene backdrop for everyday life, uninterrupted.

If you’re a history lover, you’ll want to make a pit stop at the Gangster Museum of America. Open since 2008, this multi-gallery museum invites guests to get their mafia fix by re-living an exciting period in American History, featuring vintage slot machines, dedicated exhibits for Madden and Capone, a theater, and more.

A hot spot for self storage
